Are You Ready to Start Importing?

Snapshot-IRKWhat a great time it is to start an import business.  Our dollar is almost on a par with the US dollar for the first time in years which means we are getting great value for money.

Like any other business, though, you need to do some planning before you start.  You need to be sure that you are ready to import.

There are things that you need to take into account apart from identifying your product and your target market.  How are you going to source your products?  How will you be sure they meet your quality standards?  How will you get the goods here and where will you store them?  These are some of the basic things to think about.

You will also need to look into Australian Safety Standards and all the customs requirements. too.

Then, there is your marketing plan.  How are you going to sell your products and how will you let people know that you exist?

Oh, and should I mention finance?

There is a lot of preparation that you need to do before you start out in import but if you do it properly you can build a wonderful business on the profits.

If you are thinking of starting an import business go and have a look at our Import Readiness Kit.  It is only $17 and available from our store.  It will be a money saver as you get started.

Happy importing
