How to Sell Your Imports

844226_fsa_fmHow you sell your products depends on the purpose of your business.  Do you intend to become a wholesaler or a retailer?

If you are a wholesaler you will be hoping to sell in volume.  You will be supplying retailers with stock on a regular basis.  You can establish your own website and sell online.  You can sell in bulk through places like eBay.  Look for Business to Business sites like Wholesale4U and list your business and products there.  Look for Trade Fairs and book a space at the next expo.  There are lots of ways to move a large amount of stock quickly.

Most smaller scale importers are retailers. They sell directly to the consumer so they will not sell the same quantities as a wholesaler but they will have a higher markup on products.

As retailers you can sell in many places.  You can have your own website or sell via eBay.  You can sell at markets, through party plan or in a bricks-and-mortar store.  You can also sell at virtual markets such as the one on the Perth Upmarket site.

Clever businesses don’t restrict themselves to one method of sales.  Have two or three methods in place and don’t just look for the obvious ways.  If there is nothing that suits you then create your own method.

Happy importing
