Controlling the Quality of your Imports
You have heard of the term ‘quality control’ but what does it mean for your imports and when should you do it?
We think that quality control should start even before manufacture does. When you find the manufacturer that you want to work with, start asking questions. You want to know what quality control systems he has in place already and how he will monitor the quality of your goods.
You will need to be sure that the manufacturer:
-consistently uses quality materials
-consistently produces goods to a high standard
-is able to make yor product to your design and specifications on a consistent basis
You will also need to be sure that the goods are packed and shipped properly. You don’t want to lose your investment jsut because someone was sloppy with their packing.
You can manage the quality control in a couple of ways. You can cross your fingers and hope for the best. You can go over and watch the process and check the quality at each point for yourself. You can have someone check the quality for you. We would recommend having a professional take care of the quality control for you because they know how best to do it. Don’t forget to look at our Factory Due Diligence report, too. That will give you some insight into how quality control can be managed before your goods are even made.
